Michel Sagen - Chair

Michel Sagen was one of the co-founders of Videxio, a company that merged with Pexip in 2018. Mr.Sagen has almost 25 years of senior executive and board positions, including 14 years experience in the video communication industry and 10 years in the telco industry.

Michel worked as Director of Products at Tandberg/Cisco from 2006 to 2011. Prior to that he held various positions with Telenor companies in Norway, Singapore and Malaysia from 1996 to 2006, including Head of Product Management for Mobile Consumer Products, Business Manager for Mobile Internet in Asia, Project Manager for Mobile Email and Intranet Access and Project Manager for the development of Telenor's automatic frequency planning tool. Mr Sagen holds a Master's Degree in Applied Physics from Institut National des Sciences Appliquées de Toulouse (INSA Toulouse, France). He has also completed the Executive Education Program in Strategic Leadership (2003) and the Executive Board Program (2018), both at INSEAD in France.

Kjell Skappel, Vice-Chair

Kjell Skappel currently serves as:

Mr.Skappel has extensive experience from executive and board positions within the videoconferencing industry, including through his former positions as board member and Chair in Videxio, Pexip 1.0 and Pexip 2.0. Previously he served as Regional Director Europe North at Cisco Systems from 2005 until 2010 and in several management positions in Tandberg, which was acquired by Cisco Systems. In 2010 he founded Stavanger Venture AS, which invests in technology companies. He also has extensive investment experience through his current role as CEO and investment director at T.D. Veen, managing a NOK 2 billion portfolio.

Per Haug Kogstad, Board Member

Per Haug Kogstad has extensive management and board experience within the industry, including 20 years as Executive Vice President at Tandberg, and board member of Pexip since April 2012. He has also held positions in Ericsson and Elektrisk Bureau.

Mr. Kogstad holds a Master’s degree in Economics and Business Administration (Nw: Siviløkonom) from BI Norwegian Business School (1982) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from University of Wisconsin (1983).

Irene Kristiansen, Board Member

Irene Kristiansen is currently deputy CEO of Boligbyggelaget Usbl. She has extensive management and board experience and she was employed as the CFO of Pexip from 2014 to 2017. Ms Kristiansen was previously Head of Corporate Funding and Head of Treasury at Norske Skog ASA from 2006 to 2014, Relationship Manager in Fokus Bank/Danske Bank from 2004 to 2006, and Manager at JP Morgan (London) from 1999 to 2004. Ms Kristiansen holds a Bachelor’s (Hhons) degree in Business Administration from the University of Bath (1998).

Marianne Wergeland Jenssen, Board Member

Marianne Wergeland Jenssen currently serves as Director of Markets at Nord Pool AS. Ms. Jenssen has extensive board and management experience including:
Managing Director of Smarthphones Telecom AS (2005) and MWJ Consulting AS (2004-2005), General Manager of Sempra Energy Europe AS (1999-2003), and Director of Commodities at American International Group (AIG) Trading Ltd (1993-1996). Phil Austern, Board Member

Phil Austern is a US citizen residing in New York. He has over twenty years experience as a professional investor, including as a partner at Valinor Management, a global long-short equity hedge fund that closed in 2020. Previously, Austern worked at the technology focused investment firm Francisco Partners and before that at the private equity firm DLJ Merchant Banking. Austern completed his undergraduate degree at NYU’s Stern School of Business and his Masters at The Wharton School of The University of Pennsylvania.

Asta Ellingsen Stenhagen, Board Member

Asta Ellingsen Stenhagen is a Norwegian citizen residing in Oslo. She has more than 20 years experience as legal counsel, mainly in TietoEvry (technology) and the Wilh. Wilhelmsen group (logistics, shipping and maritime services), and is currently holding the position as General Counsel, Head of Legal and Compliance in Morrow Batteries AS. Stenhagen also has experience from IPOs and transactions, and has been head of a finance department for restructuring. Stenhagen currently serves as a director for several unlisted technology companies and has worked closely with the boards of listed groups. By education, Stenhagen holds a law degree from the University of Oslo, with additional degrees from the University of Århus.
